Athletics News 2012 - 2013 Athletics
Team Taste Success [Sept 18th ’12] This afternoon,
our school athletics team competed in the Ferrybank AC Primary
Schools Cross Country event in the RSC. It was a little bit chilly but overall
it was a perfect day for cross country racing. Following trials held earlier
in the month, we had 36 boys competing in all races from 1st to 6th class
running in races from 200m to 800m in length. Everyone competed very well and
at the end of the day we were awarded the trophy for “Overall Best Boys
School”. Our captain Adam Power accepted the cup much to the delight of the
rest of the team. Congratulations to the whole team and thanks to Mr Doran
and Mrs A Brennan for looking after the team today. Athletics Team Visit Kilmacow [May 15th ‘13] Our school athletics team travelled to Kilmacow today for the annual
Waterford Primary Schools Track competition. This is usually held in the RSC
however as a new track is currently being laid there, a new venue was needed
for this year. We had boys competing in all races from sprints, long distance
and relays. Everyone gave of their best and it was a very enjoyable day.
Congratulations to our U11 relay team, Adam Power and to Victory Eddy Atu who was a triple medal winner on the day. All of
these boys have qualified for the County Finals which will be held in Dungarvan later in the month. |
