Annual Visit of the Mayor of Waterford – Oct 25th
‘07
This morning the Mayor of Waterford visited our
school and presented certificates to all those boys who had full attendance
throughout the year. On her arrival she was met by a guard of honour by boys
who are members of the Scouts or Cubs. Later she was greeted by a number of
boys in Irish, English, French, Urdu, Slovakian and Italian… a
reflection of the many countries now represented here in St Declans. Mr
Corbetts tin whistle band played beautifully and were praised by the mayor
when she spoke to all the school. Everyone was thrilled when she announced a
homework free night and a half day on Fri 26th. Congratulations to
all the boys who received certificates today.
