Class Work Special Events School Archives	STEPS to Engineering K’NEX Challenge Waterford Regional Finals - Feb 16^th ‘07 Tom and Ben, not alone represented our class today but the school, at the Waterford Regional Finals of the STEPS to Engineering K’NEX Challenge held in the WIT today. The purpose of this project is to encourage an interest in both Science and Engineering. They competed against 43 other schools from all over Waterford with the winner going forward to represent the county in the National Finals. The challenge today was to build a fire engine… which could roll… had a sliding ladder… with seats… and also to be able to hold a certain volume of water! No mean challenge really. The degree of planning and cooperation was also taken into account as well as the finished product when judging the winner. Alas our boys were not among the winners but enjoyed the morning and didn’t go home empty handed. Please wait for the pictures to load…….
