St Declans Parents' Association

      Structure of the Parents' Association Committee

The committee meets in the school every month during the school year. Each meeting has an agenda and all actions and decisions are minuted and tracked to completion.

The Officers are elected at the first meeting of the association of the school year. Each position must be nominated and then seconded. The names of the committee members will be posted on the school website following the first meeting of the school year and copies of the list will be available at the school.

The parents' association committee is open to all parents who have children attending St. Declan's School.

Aims of the Association

1.       The parents who are part of the committee are there to represent the parents of the school.

2.      Keep parents up to date on developments within the school particularly but not limited to education, sports and fund raising.

3.      Review and give input on policies and procedures as they pertain to the school e.g. homework, bullying and safety.

4.      Raise high level issues that may come from within the committee, but especially raise issues that are brought by the parents of the school.

5.       To advise or assist the school in any project where their involvement may be required.

Exclusions from the meeting

The association will not raise or discuss issues relating to the following topics

1.       Individual students

2.      Individual teachers

3.      Individual parents

To raise an item for discussion at the Parent' Association Committee Meeting
