East
Waterford U13 Primary Schools Gaelic Football Final –
Nov 5th ‘08
In front of over 100 noisy St
Declans supporters in Walsh Park our senior Gaelic Football Team competed in
the U13 East Waterford Gaelic Football Final
against our local rivals St Stephens. Considering that we had recently beaten
our near neighbours in an earlier round, we knew that going into
today’s match there would be no lack of determination and motivation on
behalf of Stephen Street
to reverse that previous result today. This game was never going to be easy!
Surprisingly it was a game with an extraordinary amount of goals. Importantly
for us in the first half, having conceded a goal we hit back almost
immediately with a goal from Aaron and “a pure beauty” from
Kieran. The 2nd half was competitive and tense, each side fiercely
trying to get the upper hand. However with Craig and Jack outstanding in the
backs and James full of energy in the middle the team continued to battle
hard for every ball and finished comfortable winners in the end. Well done to
all the lads and to their coaches Mr Morgan and Mr Kirby.
Here is just a
sample of the action from Walsh
Park and the following
day in school during the victory presentation.
